Leitoresperoth's Flight
Leitorespertoth hissed irately as she stared down at the males below. Idiots! None of them are worthy of me!
Sophie raised an eyebrow at this. "Really? That's not what you said yesterday, when you met the two new blues." She pointed out to the lavender-winged blue.
Leitorespertoth snorted in reply.
Yes, well, that was then, and this is now. Her eyes swirled a deeper red. And now, I choose to rise. Sophie gasped as the dragoness leapt off the edge suddenly, heading to the feeding grounds. She raced out to the ledge outside their weyr and watched the blue-lavender dragoness bring down a fat wherry.
Blood it, Leito! She commanded over Leitorespertoth's protests. Finally, the dragon complied, her latched onto the bird's throat to begin her meal.
The five blues gathered around her and began chasing down their own kills. Leitorespertoth snarled at all of them, but they ignored her for now. After a second meal, she stood up and, beating her wings powerfully in the air, took flight.
Her blue suitors were in the air after her. They were gathered together, so it was hard to tell who was who in the pack. Leitorespertoth flitted through the air in front of them, crooning mockingly to them. She loop-the-looped in the air before diving down towards the ground.
Four of her chasers followed her manuevers, but the large blue Goliath stayed above. The blue-lavendersped toward the ground, but leveled up before she crashed. One of her chasers was not so lucky, and Pierth landed in a painful heap on the ground. Leitorespertoth snickered as her other three suitors followed her back into the sky.
Goliath chose this moment to make his move. The giant blue lunged toward the female dragon, who nimbly dodged away. He ended up catching Frosth instead.
Get off, you idiot! The much smaller blue growled.
Goliath snarled in reply.
You get off, dimglow! The two blues were soon left far behind as they tried to untangle themselves.
Leitorespertoth rolled her eyes; she should have known those two would be more interested in tearing each apart than in chasing her. She craned her neck and stole a glance at her remaining two chasers, Oshasosth and Solanth.
The two blues were neck and neck, vainly trying to get ahead of the other and claim the dragoness as their own. Leitorespertoth crowed, egging them on mockingly. Solanth lunged forward and grabbed the blue-lavender's tail in his front claws as Leitorespertoth screeched in surprise.
Before he could do anything else, Oshasosth took advantage of Leitorespertoth's distraction and 'officially' caught her. Solanth gave up and let go, spiraling down to the ground in defeat.
Leitoresperoth crooned as her blue mate twined his tail and neck with hers as they drifted to the ground.
