Clutch 20--Aoaoth and Nunkith
A soft, yet loud, ringing bugle broke into Darkling Dawn's early morning air as Aoaoth suddenly decided to announce the hatching of her clutch. The green dragon was curled around her small clutch, and she crooned to her blue mate as Nunkith took up the call and candidates started to enter the sands.
The first of the tiny mottled eggs cracked open, revealing the head of a small, dark blue dragon. There was a crack as the male's wings broke free from the shell, revealing their...bright blue membranes. No two tones for this dragon.
The small blue climbed out of the remenants of his egg and dropped to the sand. With a shake of his head, he spotted the candidate he wanted, and headed straight for
Jaleel. J'leel! I'm Jhaakth! Will you feed me now? The new rider smiled as he lead the dark blue out of the hatching sands to the kitchen.
Meanwhile, another egg was hatching, this time revealing a dainty little green dragonet. The dragoness crooned as she turned to her green and blue parents.
I don't think I want to bond. At least, not yet, anyway. I'll go to Moire, 'kay? I'm Meith. The cheerful green made her own way off the sands, ignoring the disappointed candidates. Their attention was drawn back to the eggs as another dragon hatched, and a cheer came from the crowd as the blue dragon's brilliant white wings were revealed.
The blue-white folded his wings neatly to either side of his body, regarding the candidates with head cocked. After a moment of silent deliberation, he turned his head to his father.
My bonded is not here. May I go to Xidaver Isle? At his father's consent, Norhjhaeth trotted off to the kitchens to be fed.
The last two eggs exploded at once, spilling two tiny dragons onto the sand. The first was a deep green female, who stood up with a growl, shaking the sand from her forest green hide. The second dragon was a male with a snowy white hide and bright blue wings. The rare male just watched his sister calmly as she lgared at the crowds and walked to her rider.
Let's get away from here and eat. I'm Mysnoth. Bambi was only to happy to agree, and followed her small green away from the sands.
Finally, the white-blue hatchling stood up slowly, eyeing the remaining candidates pensively. He eventually made his choice, however, and stood staring up at
Yaerill. Y'rill, you help people and heal their wounds. I like that. Can I help you heal people? Yaerill knelt down beside the tiny dragon with a grin. We'll find some way for you to help, Htoeth."
Aoaoth crooned as she watched the last of her children bond.
It was a good clutch, wasn't it, Nunkith? She asked her blue mate.
Certainly. The blue chuckled. But our next one will be even better.
